Colleges (AAMC).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>MEDICAL AND CONTINUING EDUCATION<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Students in an online physician associate school had increased nutrition knowledge, confidence in nutrition skills, and perceived importance of clinical nutrition after receiving virtual nutrition education and a culinary medicine curriculum, according to <a England Journal of Medicine Catalyst<\/em> opinion piece <a href=\"https:\/\/catalyst.nejm.org\/doi\/full\/10.1056\/CAT.22.0462\">says improving the value of primary care<\/a> will require redesigning the care paradigm to focus on relationships among the four pillars of primary care: patients and their families, physicians, health systems, and their surrounding communities.<\/li>\n<li>The decline in numbers of primary care physicians is reaching a tipping point, <a The data suggests that breast, colorectal and lung cancers are largely preventable with lifestyle changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>HEART DISEASE<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>In a study <a href=\"Heart%20attack:%20Could%20healthy%20lifestyle%20choices%20improve%20survival%20rates?%20(medicalnewstoday.com)\">recently published<\/a> in <em>JAMA Cardiology<\/em>, more than 50% of survivors of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in Denmark reported long-term quality of life up to 20 years after their event, comparable to that of the general population.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>DEMENTIA<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Among older adults, more time spent being sedentary was significantly associated with a higher incidence of dementia, a <a href=\"Study%20ties%20sedentary%20lifestyle%20to%20dementia%20risk%20(healio.com)\">study published<\/a> in\u00a0<em>JAMA <\/em>found.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>NON-ALCHOHOLIC FATTY LIVER<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Data from 2017 to 2021 show large jumps in the incidence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease across all ages in the U.S., but the steepest increase by far is in children.
