In 2019, then president of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM), Dexter Shurney, MD, MBA, MPH, FACLM, DipABLM, cast the vision for ACLM to take proactive action in addressing lifestyle-related chronic disease health disparities. Merging his vision with ACLM\u2019s Community Engaged Member Interest Group, established in 2018 by founding co-chairs Janani Krishnaswami, MD, MPH, and Jasmol Sardana, DO, FACLM, DipABLM, the Health Equity Achieved through Lifestyle Medicine (HEAL) Initiative was born.
